I started in 2001 by taking the Netherlands' first online children's clothing store live. Since then I have built marketplaces doing over a billion dollars a year, warehouse and order systems, a procurement SaaS, CRM and compliance platforms, production automation, data platforms and AI workflows. Along the way I went from writing the code to running the engineering organizations that write it.
These days my focus is AI. Not the demos, the real work: rebuilding workflows so AI actually carries load, training teams to use it well, and putting the guardrails and evidence in place that the EU AI Act now expects from every company that uses AI. I care most about the unglamorous parts, the operating rhythm, the decisions, the systems that let good people do their best work. That is where transformation sticks.
